About the Documentary
What began as a way to raise awareness for a struggling music foundation in Uganda and the covid closure of the YMCA of the Greater Tri-Valley, a small Central NY YMCA, has turned into an unbelievable story. The emotional journey from what could have been a short children’s song, grew exponentially to include participants from 7 continents. This film showcases the story from songwriting to recording and sharing the message of hope and faith around the world has been transformational for those that have participated. Watch as a small afterschool program in Upstate, NY learns an original song, to young adults in a war-torn YMCA in Ukraine, humming along, to a blues musician in Mississippi lending his vocals to accompany a book, to hundreds of others, everyone participating in this project has been impacted in a unique way. The entire journey has been chronicled by Rick E. Lewis, a videographer from Rome, NY who served as the filmmaker for this project.
